Cadets,
We now have an airplane at Leesburg. If anyone would like an O'ride, please send me an email and we will set you up with an orientation pilot. Please include your phone number, CAPID, and weight, as well as what times you are generally available (after school - could be at the airport at HH:MM, or Saturdays, or Sunday afternoons, etc.). In order to fly, you must be in uniform (any one) and have your CAPID card (I also recommend a camera).
I generally recommend two cadets per O'ride. Only the cadet in the front uses an O'ride credit (you get 5 free rides). If there are two cadets who want to fly front seat, we fly out for an hour, land at Winchester, switch seats, and fly for another hour. If you just want to ride in the back (I don't think there are too many who have used up all 5 rides), you can do that as many times as you'd like. The aircraft we have now is a C182, so we may be able to put two cadets in the back depending on the combined weight of the crew.
O'Rides follow the Syllabus shown in CAPP 52-7 Please read before the flight (hint, see the bottom of page 4). Powered flight syllabus starts with page 14.
